After taking nine wickets in South Africa's opening Test match against Bangladesh, Kagiso Rabada has surpassed Josh Hazlewood, R Ashwin, and Jasprit Bumrah to take the top spot in the ICC men's Test bowling rankings.

After taking three in Bangladesh's opening innings, Rabada became the fastest player to reach 300 Test wickets.

He later produced statistics of 6 for 46 as South Africa won their first Test in Asia since 2014.

Both Ashwin and Bumrah performed poorly in India's loss to New Zealand in Pune, and they both fell behind Hazlewood to third and fourth place in the most recent rankings, respectively.

After taking nine wickets in Rawalpindi, Pakistan's left-arm spinner Noman Ali also made a significant leap, climbing nine spots to ninth position.

In the meantime, Saud Shakeel and Rachin Ravindra debuted in the top ten Test batting charts. Shakeel jumped 20 places to seventh rank after his 134 against England.

While Ravindra, who backed up his century in Bengaluru with a half-century in Pune, rose eight spaces to tenth.
